(B) What mixed martial artist inspires you?
(TW) My teammates and my coaches inspire me. They are the best at what they do.
(B) When did you start MMA?
(TW) I had my first MMA fight in February 2006. I had pretty much only done boxing before that, so I kinda just jumped straight in.
(B) What has been your biggest achievement in mixed martial arts?
(TW) My biggest personal achievement is the great friends I’ve made worldwide through the sport.
(B) What is it that gives you your competitive edge?
(TW) I used to be mad about football growing up and played for Reading. This is all I ever thought I was gonna do, so I guess I transfered that competitiveness to MMA.
(B) What advice would you give to someone wanting to follow in your foot steps?
(TW) Don’t follow in my footsteps, blaze your own path!
(B) What do you miss most when you are training for a fight?
(TW) The only thing I miss is being away from my family and the great friends I have in the UK.
(B) Who would you most like to fight?
(TW) I don’t have any desire to fight a particular person. Fights are not like women to me!
(B) What did you think of the BAMMA 3?
(TW) If I hadn’t been fighting for the BAMMA Middleweight belt that evening, I would have bought tickets and gone to the show with the depth of the card they’d put on.
(B) Run us through your last fight?
(TW) The fight started horribly.. I got taken down straight away and scrambled up without thinking and got kneed hard in my left eye. I couldn’t see from this point on (I had double vision) and kinda panicked and ended up almost getting choked out. I rode it out and just tried to fight as best as possible while seeing three Matt Horwich’s in front of me. I thought I won rounds 2,3 and 5.
(B) Do you think you could improve on anything?
(TW) No I’m the greatest fighter I will ever be ;-)
